Invitation Inspiration

There are so many gorgeous wedding invitations out there today. From independent designers on Etsy to companies and brands like Rifle Paper Co. and Minted, there are a lot of beautiful designs to choose from. The fiance and I are currently finishing the wording and layouts for our wedding invitations. A really sweet friend gave us the images and layouts for parts of our invitation suites and I absolutely love them and am so grateful we get to use them. I'll wait to share our invitations with you after the wedding but here are some other lovely invitations that I have come across!

What is your invitation style? I feel like I like a lot of different things. I love calligraphy and the handwritten look, I love all things floral (I have like five Rifle Paper Co. floral notebooks lying around the apartment), but at the same time I really like the simple yet fun look of invitation suite number two that I shared on here. Have you designed your own invitations? Did you DIY your invitations? Or have you found the perfect template from places like Minted? I would love to hear about your invitation experiences!

I am really looking forward to getting our invitations printed and sending them out. There is only four and a half months left until the big day!

Weekend Find

While I was out in the city on Saturday, I went into the Hay shop on Pilestræde, mostly because I've been wanting to pick up some coral ribbon they have (which I think is out of stock now). Instead of walking out with some ribbon, I came home with five packs of their Flap envelopes in various sizes.

The envelopes are made out of a thick and sturdy paper and all of the envelopes have velcro on the inside to hold the flaps down. They are normally 39kr per package, with three envelopes in each. But when I stumbled upon them this weekend, I got five packs for 49kr. Amazing! I stood there for quite a long time picking envelope colors and sizes. You guys know I love boxes and gift wrap, so this was quite the find!

And of course I had to use one of the envelopes right away!

This Year's Gift Wrap Style

I love wrapping gifts. l o v e it. It's so much fun for me. As I mentioned awhile back, I got a few rolls of wrapping paper from Bungalow during their flea market sale at the end of September and I finally got to use them. The boyfriend and I joined up with his brother to purchase gifts for their parents so we bought a few things for them from their wish list. The boyfriend and I also bought each other two gifts and we're still working on finding the last part of his brother's gift.

Last year, I wrapped and decorated each gift separately but this year, I went for the stacked look. So we piled the two or sometimes three gifts for each person on top of each other and held everything together with two strands of white paper ribbon and one strand of turquoise twine. To top it off, we used either a brown paper tag or a Bungalow heart gift tag depending on the wrapping paper used on the top gift. I also placed two white feathers through the knot on the bow and a sparkly little apple decoration, these were just some craft items I had lying around and thought it would add a different texture and a little bit of sparkle to the gifts.

Here are some of my gift wrapping essentials:

Scissors
Wrapping paper (I love the simple white or tan/brown kraft paper look)
Tissue paper (use if the gift can be seen through the wrapping paper)
Ribbon (I like to use multiple strands and mix different types)
Tape (preferably washi/mt tape!)
Gift tags
Extra little decorations (feathers, buttons, paper flowers, etc.)

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...

Christmas! Because our star lamp is up!

The boyfriend had two of his friend's over for dinner on Friday night and they got roped into helping us put up our paper star lamp. I mentioned a few weeks ago that we picked up the lamp at Bungalow at the Ravnsborggade flea market for less than half price. We have the Jaipur lamp in lime green. We bought the light bulb holder/socket, the clear cord, and the plug at Silvan and the boyfriend wired it all up. The lamp holder piece on the ceiling is from Ikea. The boyfriend and his friend L put the cord through the lamp holder and screwed that piece into the ceiling. They then put in the light bulb, tied up the star and voila! It's done! We also bought some wall clips on the weekend and nailed those into the wall to hold the cord along the moulding. We didn't clip and nail the entire length of the cord to the inside corner of the wall as we didn't want to create too many holes as we are renting this apartment.

I am super happy with the lamp. We thought about placing the star a bit lower but it's also nice as it is right now because it is level with the two chandeliers we have in the living room and dining room. It really adds some hygge or coziness to the living room!

Bungalow: Gorgeous Paper Products

It was love at first sight when I saw Bungalow boxes at Udda Tina in Lund. Their boxes and paper goods can be found in many stores in Copenhagen. I pass by their own little "flagship" store a lot as it is right next to the yoga studio I have been going to.

A few weekends ago, there was a big flea market on Ravnsborggade where the Bungalow store is located and they had really, really, really amazing deals. (I mostly went to the flea market that day to see what Bungalow would have.) Let's just say my hands were full, and the boyfriends too. I picked up 5 rolls of turquoise wrapping paper that day (I already had the mustardy yellow/green paper and the purple print one at home from another trip), as well as 4 small boxes, 1 big box, and a lime green paper star which we will hang up at Christmas. The wrapping paper was less than $1 each and the small boxes were less than $2 (in Canadian dollars). Um, I don't know about you, but to me, that is a major steal. Let's just say, I left very happy and I'm excited to wrap Christmas presents this year!

When we start putting up Christmas decorations, I will definitely take a picture of the paper star for you. I've been wanting a paper star to put up during the holidays since I've lived in Scandinavia.
